Heterotopic Pancreas of the Stomach

Abstract
Heterotopic pancreas is found in 0.5 to 1.3% by routine necropsies and is found one in approximately every 500 operations in abdominal surgery.
About 80% of heterotopic pancreatic lesions found in the stomach are located in the antrum whit in 5 or 6cm of the pylorus.
We have recently experienced a case of heterotopic pancreas on the antrum and along the greater curvature of stomach, that was found incidentally during exploratory laparotomy under the impression of early cancer of the stomach in 48-year old female patient.
Subtotal gastrectomy and gastrojejunostomy was done and was discharged without any postoperative complication.
